Congratulations on your pregnancy! This is a wonderful phase of life to celebrate through photography. I offer both indoor and outdoor photography near you or near me, at your convenience. You’ll find two styles and two timelines outlined on this page.

Third trimester maternity photos are typically scheduled between 28-35 weeks when your baby belly is full. Of course this is just a ballpark week range, as every person’s body and pregnancy journey is different.

Pregnancy announcement shoots: If you want a maternity photoshoot done earlier for a pregnancy announcement, by all means let’s do it. Clients will often bring ultrasound photos if they have not popped yet, or are showing just a little bit at this phase.

Maternity photo sessions can be booked as early as when you know your due date, or as late as about-to-deliver, if you’re able to move around comfortably and if there is an opening in my bookings. I can’t guarantee there will be availability for last minute requests, but it never hurts to enquire.

Two Styles

Maternity photos can be done indoors or outdoors, which will result in a slightly different style of photography. Both are equally beautiful and up to your preference.

Outdoor Photography

Outdoor sessions take place at a park or in a field/forest near you or me, or in your personal outdoor space. Winter, summer, fall or spring are all opportunities for different types of outdoor photography, so it is completely up to your comfortability as far as weather conditions go. If you would prefer it not to be raining, we will of course reschedule at the earliest convenience to both of us.

Outdoor sessions are typically 60-90 mins but may run over if there are more family members present. Outdoor shoots can be booked during any season.

Studio Photography

Indoor studio sessions are available near you or near me. I have a few in Toronto I can recommend, or we can choose one that suits your aesthetic goal, proximity to your residence, and price point. Please note that the studio cost will be up to you and is not included in my photography rate.

Studio sessions are typically 60-90 mins based on the client’s preference at booking. Note that studios are usually booked in 1 hour increments based on the studio’s business model. If there is spare time in a booking we can take additional close ups or try another outfit change.

FAQ

Who’s invited?

Anyone you want, or just yourself. Pregnancy photos can include partners, siblings, family, surrogates, or just be the pregnant individual. Is it worth it if my partner can’t or won’t come? I may be biased, but yes! This is a moment to celebrate your new body in all its glory.

Do you provide clothing?

I do not provide maternity clothing. You will be responsible for your own hair, makeup and outfit choices.

How many outfits should I bring?

Up to three, but it never hurts to have extras on standby if there is extra time or you don’t like something in the moment. I recommend a neutral colour, something more fun, something tight (at least across the belly) and something flowy. People will often bring options like a bodysuit, shorts and a tank top with a flowy cardigan, a dress, or even their gym outfit if that’s their style. It is completely up to you and your style preference! If you aren’t sure, you can send me your options ahead of time and I’ll make suggestions.

If the session is outdoors, think about the weather when planning your outfits. Long sleeved dresses, open coats, hats, mitts, boots, etc. should be considered for winter shoots.

I also encourage you to bring ultrasound pictures for early pregnancy announcement photos where you are not at a full-term baby bump.

Are nude photos an option?

Absolutely. These would be done in a studio setting, or in the client’s private outdoor space.

When should I book a shoot?

Book as early as when you know your due date to guarantee a spot, but reach out as late as you need to.

For early pregnancy announcement photos, we will schedule our session as early as you like. Most people like to wait until they’ve popped at least a little bit, but this is not a requirement.

For typical maternity shoots, I recommend aiming for being 28-35 weeks pregnant for the photoshoot. If we approach a photoshoot and you don’t feel ready yet (if you want to see if you get a little bigger) we can reschedule as long as I have booking space open and it’s not too too close to your delivery date.

I don’t recommend going past 35 weeks as you may be more uncomfortable, and in the case of needing to reschedule your baby/babies may arrive before then. There are always exceptions, and of course this is just a recommendation. I’ll take you as early or as late as you’d like.

How long is the photoshoot?

Between 1-2 hours. Some people choose to book a studio for only one hour to fit their budget. Some choose to book for 2 to have time for more outfit options. Outdoor sessions usually run at 90 minutes.

When will I receive my photos?

Photos are available to download within 2 weeks.

I’m self-conscious of my acne/moles/skin, do you edit this?

I edit out blemishes such as acne on the face and body. Moles are left intact unless you request me to remove them. I will not assume and will not ask, but am happy to remove them upon request. If there is something else you are worried about, simply as and I will let you know if it is possible. Just remember, you notice these features more than anyone else would, and will likely care more about how amazing you and your baby bump look.

Pricing

All maternity sessions are $750 CAD.

What this covers:

The photographer’s time and skill during the shoot and in the editing suite.

The full gallery of high quality edited photos delivered digitally within two weeks. These can be downloaded by any of your friends and family members you wish to share with.

You get every single photo that turns out, no hand-picking required or pay-per-photo nonsense. This will range between 40-60 photos but might be higher depending on how many family members participate, the number of outfit changes, and if a studio was booked and for how long.

Extras:

Makeup, hair, clothing, and studio bookings are the financial responsibility of the client, and are not covered in the $650 rate. If you would like me to book the studio, no problem. I will just require the studio fee before I schedule it.

Options to add prints are available in the A la Carte menu.

Payment Options and Cancellations

A $250 deposit is required at the time of booking, and will be put towards the $650 total ($250 deposit + $400 remaining payable = $650 total). This deposit holds your spot and covers my time in the event that a client does not show up without due warning. In the case of a weather event or unforeseen circumstances, we can reschedule at no additional fee on my end. If a studio was booked, the studio will be rebooked a the cost of the client.

Payment options include e-transfer, cheque, or cash.

Payment plans are available, with the total owing due before the delivery of any digital products. Receipts will be provided.
