They say people forget much of their birth story. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a reminder of the instant you first laid eyes on your newborn? Or of how your partner held your hand? Or of how your mother chattered away in the corner? We capture weddings, birthdays, graduations, etc. so why not capture what is arguably the most important day of your child’s life – their birth?
Why choose me as your birth photographer?
I am a certified doula, but was a photographer first.
Why does that matter?
Often a doula will add photography to their birth business, but it might take them a while for their photography skills to get up to speed. I had over ten years of photography experience before diving into the birth world. This means I have the skill and equipment to make sure you’re getting the highest quality images, but I also have the birth knowledge and experience to reassure my clients that I’m not going to miss the important moments, or get in the way of their care provider.
I also give you the option to bundle doula support and birth photography, It is important to note that in that circumstance, I am your doula first, and your photographer second. I will absolutely do my best to capture all of the important moments to the same degree, but if you need me by your side during any of those times, I will stay there and put my camera down. This can be a more cost effective way of hiring both services.
Do I need to have a home birth to have a birth photographer?
Not at all. Birth photography is about capturing the emotions. You can have those in a hospital! You’ll see my gallery below of my client’s hospital birth. You’ll need to check with your care provider and the hospital you plan to give birth at (or as a backup) to see how many visitors are allowed in, and if there is a policy against photography.
What does birth photography show?
Whatever you’re comfortable with. We’ll meet before the birth to go over your wants and “unwants” for birth photography. Want me to stay behind your shoulder the entire time? No problem at all. Want me to get “that shot” of the baby coming out? No problem. Want me to skip the part where you push entirely? No worries, I’ll put the camera down. It’s up to you and your family to let me know what you do and don’t want me to capture. Your photos are also private unless you’ve given me express permission to use particular shots in my portfolio.

- 1 prenatal consultation about your birth plan and wants/boundaries for photography. In person at a local coffee shop or virtual.
- I’m on call 24/7 from 38 weeks, and will do my best to make it outside of that timeline.
- I attend from active labour up until 1-2 hours after birth.
- You get the entire gallery of edited images (digital). You will get everything in colour, and a second copy of the entire gallery in black & white.
- Slideshow set to licensed music.
- Option to add wall art and prints – see À la Carte.
($500 deposit required at booking, which will count towards the total amount owing. Full amount due by 38 weeks. Refunds available under special circumstances.)

- 1-2 prenatal consultations about your birth plan in person at a local coffee shop or virtual. Let’s get to know each other.
- Birth attendance, plus a few hours after birth to help establish feeding.
- Comfort measures and support
- Someone by your side to translate the medical jargon and keep you in the loop
- Welcome package including resource and information sheets regarding pregnancy, birth (physiology, comfort measures), and postpartum.
- Access to my cell for any questions you have leading up to your birth, during your birth, and up to one year after.
- I’m on call 24/7 from 38 weeks, and will do my best to make it outside of that timeline.
- 1 postpartum meeting, with the option to add another at $150 each.

Paypment Options
E-transfers, cash, and cheques are all accepted. You will be given a receipt for your records.
